A member of the Orléans municipal police wore a Nazi tattoo!
The information was revealed in an article published by the online media Au Poste on March 11.
The police officer was spotted in September during the Loire festival, while he was on duty, then walking around in civilian clothes during a beer festival.
He sported a black sun on his elbow, an esoteric Nazi motif.
Alerted, the municipality immediately summoned him to his superiors.
“He told us he didn't know it was a Nazi symbol and that for him it was a Viking symbol, which is true.
We did not question his good faith but we told him that we could not allow the confusion to continue,” explains the deputy mayor, Florent Montillot.
" He understood.
He offered to remove his tattoo and showed us that he had done it.

“The prosecutor should have been contacted”
For its part, the opposition judges that the matter would have required firmer measures.
“We are shocked,” declared municipal councilor Emmanuel Duplessy on behalf of the left and environmentalists.
“Given the facts and without prejudging the merits, the prosecutor should have been informed.

The municipality, he believes, should also have taken disciplinary action against the police officer who was able to practice with this tattoo.
“This raises a lot of questions about the functioning of the municipal police,” he adds, while Florent Montillot considers this debate “nauseating”.
In response, the opposition has decided to take legal action itself, and plans to send a letter to the public prosecutor on Friday at the latest to report the facts.
