In the midst of the economic crisis and the threats of strikes in transportation that are becoming recurrent, the Government announced this Friday that it
is stopping subsidizing 1,637 AMBA groups
.
It was presidential spokesperson
Manuel Adorni
who confirmed it in his usual press conference at the Casa Rosada and spoke of a "tap of waste" that costs the State
$6.2 billion
.
"The Ministry of Transportation has stopped subsidizing 1,637 groups in the AMBA based on a study of the automotive system that determined serious irregularities," said the spokesperson.
Along the same lines, he specified that "the national State distributed subsidies for a vehicle fleet of 18,300 buses but it was never controlled if that amount was the one that traveled through the AMBA."
"This
dismantles a faucet of waste
, inefficiency that costs us all very dearly. It has been left to pay since March and with this we Argentines saved 6.2 billion per month in this which was an unjustified waste," he insisted.
