Berlin – The wanted RAF terrorist Daniela Klette lived in a small Berlin social apartment for more than 20 years – and without a rental agreement.
Her neighbors describe her as inconspicuous, but after her arrest at the end of February it became more than clear: she was probably not as harmless as the 65-year-old appeared to be.
In her apartment, the investigators found the RAF terrorist's secret inheritance: Burdock hid war weapons, cash and gold, among other things, in a cupboard with a false bottom.
The police were active in her apartment for weeks.
Two other RAF terrorists are still wanted: Burkhard Garweg and Ernst-Volker Staub.
A piece of evidence points to the plans that Daniela Klette was considering.
As “Claudia Bernadi”?
RAF terrorist Daniela Klette apparently wanted to continue living in Italy
When she was arrested at the end of February, investigators found an Italian passport in the name “Claudia Vernone”.
During renewed searches last Thursday, another identification document was found.
This was made out to an Italian citizen named “Claudia Bernadi,” who was supposedly born on November 12, 1963.
Do these documents reveal her escape plans or did she already live in Italy under these names in the past?
This is currently the subject of investigations.

An investigator told

that it used to be very easy to forge Italian passports.
He said: “They were as easy to forge as Turkish ID cards.
In Italy there were also many burglaries in public authorities in which blank documents were stolen.
So the fraudsters had the original paper in their hands.”
The investigator also explained that Klette probably simply took an available ID.
He added that she would most likely have taken a Danish ID too if she had been provided with one.

Shortly before her arrest in Berlin, Klette is said to have warned her accomplice Burkhard Garweg.

, Klette is said to have sent a warning to Garweg from her apartment before she flushed a SIM card from her cell phone down the toilet.
“You have me,” she is said to have written.
Since this incident, Garweg's cell phone is said to have been no longer in use, which raises questions about this action.

Responsibility for this operation was carried out by target investigators from the LKA Lower Saxony, which is responsible for the search for Klette, Garweg and the third wanted RAF terrorist, Ernst-Volker Staub.
As can be heard from police circles in Berlin, these investigators conducted a survey of the neighborhood based on a photo of Klette.
After receiving a tip about the apartment, they are said to have asked for assistance from a Berlin patrol car.
