Rising costs are causing headaches for the Allershausen school association, as are the challenges of all-day care.

Allershausen

– Many communities want to stop this spiral: Many things are becoming more and more expensive, including in Allershausen.

At the all-day school run by Johanniter Accident Help (JUH) as the sponsor, significant increases were on the table due to wage increases.

These were decided at the school association meeting, but with a stomachache.

Last year, the costs of the school association were a good 27,000 euros.

Due to two tariff increases, the JUH has now applied to increase the cost coverage by around 2,300 euros annually from now on.

This year there will also be an additional 4,650 euros as a one-off inflation compensation.

According to the current status, the subsidy in 2024 is almost 35,000 euros.

In 2025 it should then fall again: to 30,000 euros.

“It’s not entirely transparent”

The Allershausen association councilor Bianca Kellner-Zotz criticized the short application: “It’s not entirely transparent.” She not only wanted a detailed list of costs for next year, as is the case in other childcare facilities, but analogous to others Providers also have a deficit contract with a capped budget for lunchtime care in the middle school.

The chairman of the special-purpose association and Mayor of Allershausen, Martin Vaas, was critical of this: “Then they write that they cannot get by with the capped sum and apply for 2,000 euros more.

We then have to say yes or no.” Kirchdorf Mayor Uwe Gerlsbeck was also sure that the next increase in personnel costs would come in 2025.

At the school association meeting there were also general discussions about supervision.

Gerlsbeck wanted the people of Allershausen not to provide all-day care at primary school free of charge for parents, as is the case at middle school.

All communities in the area should follow roughly the same path.

His colleague from Allershausen confirmed this with reference to fees for after-school care or lunchtime care.

5.50 instead of 4.50 euros per meal

There were also discussions about the legal requirements of the Bavarian Child Care Act (BayKiBig) and the times prescribed there for eligibility for subsidies, according to which first graders, for example, have to complete a minimum period of time until 2 p.m.

Bianca Kellner-Zotz didn't really like that, but Gerlsbeck made it clear that more and more guidelines had to be implemented: “We should say goodbye to the dream concert.

Ultimately, we also want to include institutions such as music schools or clubs in the offer.” This requires fixed times for support and also adherence to the booked periods.

There was no debate about the increase in food costs in the cafeteria of the Allershausen middle school from 4.50 to 5.50 euros per meal.

Allershausen's treasurer Manfred Bosch pointed out that in view of the massive increases in food prices and wages, the mathematical figure would be seven euros per meal.

Despite the increase to 5.50 euros on September 1st, cafeteria operations are now subsidized in the school association's budget.
