Opponents of Tesla's expansion plans have been holding out in a forest in Brandenburg since the end of February.
Carola Rackete believes the deadline should be extended.
Grünheide - The Left European candidate Carola Rackete has sided with the forest squatters near the Tesla factory in Brandenburg.
“Evacuation of the forest occupation in Grünheide would be fatal,” said the climate and refugee activist on Friday.
“The permits for the protest camp in the forest and the vigil should be extended until May.”
The changed Tesla building application was also rejected by the citizens' initiative because the forest would become a patchwork quilt, Rackete said.
People are rightly concerned about the drinking water protection area.
“If we want to strengthen trust in democracy in the face of the shift to the right, the structural change must be made more democratic,” demanded the non-party activist, who, together with party leader Martin Schirdewan, is the left’s top candidate for the European elections.
This Friday, the registered time for the protest camp of the “Stop Tesla” initiative near the US manufacturer's electric car factory just outside Berlin expires.
The activists built tree houses there in the forest at the end of February.
Their goal is to prevent the forest from being cleared as part of an expansion of the Tesla site.
According to the police, the meeting is registered until midnight and an extension is being considered, according to the police.
