Highlights: Gordo, a 9-month-old English bulldog, burned very seriously by his mistress using a hairdryer. She is being prosecuted for cruelty to an animal. The puppy suffered repeated violence from his owner: he had already had to be operated on for a broken hip following violence when he was only 3 months old. The APA is looking for a foster family to welcome the young dog when he leaves the veterinarian. The dog will have lifelong aftereffects, but he is an adorable dog who holds no resentment towards humans.

Prosecuted for act of cruelty towards an animal, the owner is summoned to court. The puppy was placed in the care of the association

It was the neighbors of this resident of Tour d'Auvergne, in Lognes, who alerted the police on Monday.

They could no longer stand the constant howling of a dog in an apartment in their neighborhood.

When the police entered the home, they quickly realized that they were screaming in pain.

They discovered Gordo, a 9-month-old English bulldog, covered in large burns on his back, paws and neck.

“Wounds that have been very infected for several days turning into septicemia,” confirms Anne-Claire Chauvancy, president of the Animal Protection Action association to whom the animal was entrusted on Thursday.

“Gordo was treated by our veterinarian.

He is still receiving treatment for his burns to heal and his pain to ease,” continues the manager, who speaks of a “peak in cruelty” as she says she is confronted daily with these horrors.

In the meantime, the owner, aged 34, was summoned to the Torcy police station on Thursday.

She was placed in police custody there during the investigations.

“The young woman justified herself by indicating during her custody that she is very manic and that she could not stand that her puppy, who lived stored under a table from which he was not allowed to move , dirty the apartment.

She then washed it and dried it with a hairdryer,” reports the APA.

Charred skin on 40% of the body

That's when the dog's owner loses control.

Her dog starts to squeal in pain from the heat, which makes the young woman angry.

She holds him down by force and sticks the hair dryer at full power directly in contact with the coat, which is very short for bulldogs.

The skin begins to scorch and then literally burn.

The dog howls continuously.

When this “torture session” of several minutes ended, the dog was covered with severe burns on 40% of the surface of its body.

“Despite particularly serious injuries, neither she nor her companion considered it useful to seek treatment for Gordo, who was still suffering martyrdom.

It was only when his wounds became terribly infected, more than three days after the incident, that they ended up taking him to a veterinarian,” continues the association leader.

Lognes.

Gordo, a 9-month-old English bulldog, burned very seriously by his mistress using a hairdryer.

She is being prosecuted for cruelty to an animal.

According to our information, the puppy suffered repeated violence from his owner: he had already had to be operated on for a broken hip following violence when he was only 3 months old.

Placed in police custody on Thursday, the thirty-year-old admitted the facts and agreed to be tried on prior admission of guilt (CRPC), on September 30 at the Meaux judicial court.

The APA also filed a complaint for act of cruelty towards an animal against the suspect and for deprivation of care against his companion.

The latter was not present during the burning session, he is therefore not targeted by the legal proceedings, but the association criticizes him for not having intervened sooner.

She specifies that “Gordo will have lifelong aftereffects.

However, he is an adorable dog who holds no resentment towards humans despite the hell he has endured.

Adorable and very endearing, he only asks for affection.”

The APA is looking for a foster family to welcome the young dog when he leaves the veterinarian.
