London police announced Friday they were searching for the perpetrator of two separate but
"related"
crossbow attacks that left people injured this month in the trendy Shoreditch district.
The victims of the attacks, a 44-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man, were both released from hospital after receiving treatment for injuries that police said were not life-threatening.
The attacks that occurred on March 4 and 14 are linked because of
“their nature and location”
where they occurred, according to the same source.
On March 4, the woman was shot in the head while crossing the street in Shoreditch, a hipster neighborhood in east London known for its street art and designer boutiques.
Ten days later, at the same time in the evening, the 20-year-old man was injured in the neck in a street located 60 meters from the scene of the first attack.
“Significant efforts are being made to find the perpetrator of these attacks
,” said James Conways, head of the London Metropolitan Police.
“We understand how worrying this is
,” he continued, calling on witnesses to come forward and ensuring that his detectives were analyzing video surveillance tools in particular.
