137 migrants have landed in Lampedusa since midnight. On the island yesterday, in 24 hours, there were 8 landings with a total of 431 people.
The latest rescue operations, carried out by the Captaincy and the financial police, concerned a group of 65 (3 women and 4 minors) Nigerians, Sudanese, Senegalese, Somalis and Ivorians who left Zawia in Libya and 47 (3 women) Gambians, Malaysians, Senegalese and Somalis who set sail from Sfax in Tunisia.
The Carabinieri instead stopped 25 (3 women and 1 minor) Eritreans, Gambians, Ethiopians and Nigerians who had set sail from Tagiura in Libya in Cala Pisana.
The 8 meter fiberglass boat was found capsized at the Cala Pisana pier.
