At the “Tatort” the exits are increasing – including in the Dortmund investigative team.

Now WDR comments on Jörg Hartmann's whereabouts as Commissioner Peter Faber.

Dortmund – Dortmund’s “crime scene” has recently been remodeled.

In November 2020, Nora Dalay, played by Aylin Tezel (40), said goodbye to the cult crime series after eight years.

She was followed two years later by colleague Anna Schudt (49), who had previously portrayed Martina Bönisch.

Of the original team that started in 2012, only Chief Detective Peter Faber, played by Jörg Hartmann (54), remains.

But what happens next for him?

WDR clarifies: Will Jörg Hartmann alias Inspector Peter Faber remain at the “crime scene”?

After Rick Okon (34), who previously starred as Jan Pawlak in Dortmund's "Tatort", also left in February, Commissioner Peter Farber has since continued to investigate as a duo with Rosa Herzog (Stefanie Reinsperger, 36).

But will Jörg Hartmann remain loyal to WDR?

The station is now clarifying.

that a decision had already been made about Jörg Hartmann's “Tatort” future.

“Chief Inspector Peter Faber and the 'Tatort' Dortmund are an unbeatable unit,” emphasizes Alexander Bickel, head of WDR fiction, and praises Hartmann's versatile and great acting skills.

He “created a character that fascinates the audience.” The actor will remain in the production.

Hartmann has signed a contract with a term of three years until the end of 2026.

“Curse and blessing at the same time”: Jörg Hartmann on “Tatort” role

The role is both a blessing and a curse for Jörg Hartmann.

After all, he wanted to be perceived as an actor and artist and not just as a “crime scene” detective, as he explained to the

Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung

.

“And at the same time I'm happy and also take it as praise that people have accepted me so much in this character, then you're just a 'crime scene' detective, yes, my God, I can live with that,” notes Hartmann .
