Hurray, we can stay: The music school has found permanent accommodation in the Olching parish hall.

Chairman Dirk Olbrich (from left), Claudia Dilling, Gertrud Lindhuber, Larissa Tetsch, Stefanie Keller, Mayor Andreas Magg, Anne Frey and of course the little musicians are happy about this.

The space problem at the district music school in Olching has been solved: with joint efforts, rooms were organized in which the children can now reliably learn guitar etc.

This should calm the situation after the parents' protest action.

Olching – Raise your guitars: At the photo shoot in the new domicile in the parish hall, everyone is clearly in a good mood this time.

Music students and teachers raise their instruments in the air.

Parents and Mayor Andreas Magg are all smiles.

The relief is great: harmony is back, the space problem has been solved.

Parents collected signatures

Things looked different at the beginning of the school year.

After rooms in the music school in the Martinschule were eliminated because it had to be made ready for all-day care, chaotic conditions prevailed for a short time.

At least that's how parents' council chairwoman Gertrud Lindhuber described it at the citizens' meeting last fall.

At the time it was unclear whether and where the children would be able to receive lessons in the near future.

So a signature campaign was started.

Hundreds of signatories demanded more rooms for music lessons in Olching.

And this wish has now been fulfilled.

The classroom in the parish hall could be rented permanently.

And the city provides another room in the social center.

This has eased the situation.

Eleven rooms

The capacities are now sufficient, as Dirk Olbrich, head of the Fürstenfeldbruck district music school, explains in response to a Tagblatt query.

“All teachers and teaching units are adequately accommodated.”

The school has a total of eleven classrooms in the Olching city area.

A total of 27 teaching blocks take place from Monday to Friday.

The room in the parish hall is accessible seven days a week, but is currently only needed on three days.

The team can use it for meetings or to make up for missed hours.

The room in the social center is also available for a full day of teaching, i.e. from noon to 8 p.m.

The children have been learning to play the flute here since March.

Olbrich expressly thanked Mayor Andreas Magg for his efforts.

He describes the cooperation with the town hall, which had already made the former cafeteria in the middle school available, as good.

Thanks also go to music school director Rosi Klar, who quickly looked for solutions and opened up the church space, initially as a temporary solution.

Quick solution to space shortages

Thanks to the quick action, no serious consequences were felt, says Olbrich.

There were no fewer new registrations.

Mayor Andreas Magg is also satisfied: “I am pleased that in addition to the exclusive large room on Heckenstrasse that the city has already made available and the new room in the city social center, another room has been made permanently usable by the church for our music school. “

He emphasizes that even before the parents' signature campaign, he had promised solutions in close coordination with the district music school, of which he is vice-chairman.

And now with success, also thanks to support: “Many thanks to the priest and the Catholic Church for supporting the music school in such an unbureaucratic manner!”
