“Do you understand fun?” has thrilled loyal fans for more than 40 years – but how does SWR want to continue with the popular show?

Now the station is clarifying.

Berlin – On March 30, 2024, the ARD success guarantee “Do you understand fun?” with show host Barbara Schöneberger (50) will be launching a new edition.

Fans can follow the Saturday evening show at prime time on the public broadcaster and can look forward to a promising guest list.

But rumors have currently arisen that SWR may want to produce fewer episodes of the successful show in the future - now the broadcaster is speaking plainly.

SWR comments on “Do you understand fun?” plans

The Saturday evening show can look back on a 40-year success story - and yet the format is not always well received online.

Many viewers criticize “Do You Have Fun?” for the pranks it shows.

But there is currently no end to the show in sight, like SWR is now

announces.

is said to have learned from industry circles that only two editions of “Do you understand fun?” will be produced in 2025 – in 2023 there were five shows.

The broadcaster has now commented on this to

.

“SWR is proud of the more than 40-year success story of 'Do you understand fun?', which will continue in 2025 and beyond,” said the public broadcaster.

“Too early”: SWR does not specify “Do you understand fun?” plans for 2025

The SWR also adds: “Even though the planning is still ongoing, our focus continues to be on the big family show on the first as well as on consistently strengthening the digital distribution channels, where the loading films now also reach an audience of millions and an increasing number of younger fans.

With a view to 2025 and beyond, we are planning as described above.

It is too early for anything concrete now, in spring 2024.”

The station does not want to comment on the “Do you understand fun?” rumors at this time.

What will happen next with the popular Saturday evening show in 2025 remains to be seen for now.
