The Iffeldorf fire department is justifiably proud.

They achieved third place overall in the state fire brigade association's fire brigade ski race.

Iffeldorf - Eight members of the Iffeldorf fire department proved that they are not just good at extinguishing fires.

At the fire brigade camaraderie ski race run by the Bavarian State Fire Brigade Association, they took third place overall, only beaten by riders from Garmisch and Partenkirchen.

The Iffeldorf fire department announced this in a report.

The Iffeldorf fire department took third place in the fire department ski race

After four Iffeldorfers started in a race last year, the fire department took part again this year.

20 firefighters set off for the Partenkirchner Gudiberg in Garmisch - eight starters and the twelve-member fan club.

The route inspection showed that the conditions were not the best, but were the same for everyone, the report continues.

The Iffeldorf participants started in the student, youth female and men's master classes 50, 40 and 30. Cheered on by the fan club with drums and hand sirens, the Iffeldorfers started.

And with success: the firefighters achieved first place twice (Thomas Koitsch, men's Master 50 and Sebastian Wörle, male student).

They were also able to secure second place twice (Anna-Lena Ludewig, youth female and Andreas Michl men's master 40).

The overall ranking was ultimately determined by the sum of the three fastest drivers per fire department.

According to their own information, the Iffeldorfers came third here.
