In Sweden, the court in Malmö (south) on Friday sentenced a man to life in prison for inciting a 15-year-old teenager to commit murder in a crowded shopping center.
On August 19, 2022, a 31-year-old man, identified as one of the leaders of a criminal gang in the city, was shot dead in the middle of the Emporia shopping center, a few months after the death of his brother.
The shooter, a 15-year-old boy, was convicted of the murder in September 2023 and sentenced to four years in prison.
On Friday, it was the mastermind of the attack who had to answer for his crime.
The Malmö court found this 28-year-old man, well known to the police, guilty
of “incitement to murder”
, in particular for having pushed the teenager into crime.
He was sentenced to life imprisonment.
The mastermind of the attack had found accommodation for the teenager
“The prosecution's investigation shows that this person had a motive to kill the victim, that he had found accommodation for the 15-year-old in Malmö before the murder, that he was present in Emporia (during the) murder , that she had links to the murder weapon and that she took over the role of leader
within the “Satudarah Assassins” group after this attack, the press release said.
Sweden has been battling a bloody gang war for several years which reached an unprecedented level at the end of 2023 with a record number of shootings.
