The situation remains tense in the Russian regions of Belgorod and Kursk near the border.

The partisan movement Legion Svoboda Rossii (in German: Freedom of Russia) announced fighting in the areas and called on the population to flee.

People should leave the towns by Friday, 7 a.m. local time (5 a.m. CET) to save their lives, the movement wrote on the Telegram news channel.
