He was only 15 years old when his parents decided to migrate to an unknown destination
thousands of kilometers away.
For the first time, with a mix of emotions, Joaquín found himself at the Ezeiza International Airport with his family,
ready to make a 180-degree turn
.
“The fact that my parents, at
50 years old
, made the decision to move and start from scratch in another country,
was an act of incredible courage
,” says Joaquín Castellano in an interview with
Clarín
.
In
2000 , the
39-year-
old man
- originally from the
Province of Buenos Aires
-
emigrated to Spain with his family
, due to the insecurity and complex economic situation that
Argentina
was going through at that time, according to his words.
Its beginnings in the Iberian nation
The protagonist of this story was born in the town of Martínez,
northern area of Greater Buenos Aires
.
Since he was little, he was immersed in the artistic universe.
At only 9 years old,
he joined a theater school called “Luz y Fuerza”, where
he discovered his passion: acting
.
From that moment on, he never stopped acting.
In parallel,
He played soccer at Club Banade, where he created friendships and
built very valuable memories
.
However, in early
2000
,
his parents chose to leave Argentina in search of a better future
.
For this reason, a few months later, the young man
said goodbye to his loved ones and left for Spain
with his parents and brothers.
Despite missing his friends,
he knew that he was about to live an incredible adventure
, in his words.

“At that time,
we settled in the city of Granada, in the south of Spain
.
Mainly, because it was
a quiet place and similar to Buenos Aires
.
Upon arrival, we set up a magazine stand, which
ended up being a success
,” explains the Argentine.
In that city,
they rented a home in a building
, where there were several teenagers the same age as him.
“Since I met them, they integrated me into their soccer team and
made my adaptation in the country more bearable and fun
,” the actor expresses with joy.
Those friends
provided him with the support he needed
and became - to this day - his “soul brothers”, in his words.
At the same time, art continued to be part of his life, since, upon arriving in the Iberian nation, his mother, Clara Viola - who is an actress and film director -
founded a theater company
called “Dos Caras ”, where Joaquín
took acting classes

, he began a degree in Physical Education at the
University of Granada
.
At the same time,
he got two jobs
to pay for his studies: he played the role of
waiter in a nightclub
and a
newspaper seller
in the family business.
In
2006
, at
the age of 22
, he finished his university career and continued working with his father at the store.
“I felt lost in life, I was not passionate about what I had studied and
I had no intention of practicing my profession
.
What I knew was that I wanted to act, but
it seemed impossible to be able to make a living from acting
,” Joaquín explains.
However,
everything changed when an unknown man
- delighted with his participation in certain plays -
He approached him and
recommended that he dedicate himself professionally to acting
.
That conversation was the last push she needed to
encourage her to follow her dreams
of him, according to her words.
