After six months of waiting, the Constitutional Council has decided: the results of the senatorial elections in Hauts-de-Seine, dated September 24, are definitively validated.
According to the Wise Men, whose decision was made public this Friday, March 15, the grievances presented by two unsuccessful candidates are either inadmissible or not likely to influence the regularity of the vote.
The first appeal was filed by Philippe Pemezec (LR), outgoing senator, in third position on the official LR list.
He had seen his seat slip away thanks to Marie-Do Aeschlimann (LR), who had put together a dissident list.
The first list led by Senator Roger Karoutchi (LR) obtained 626 ballots (26.9% of the vote) and the second received 289 votes (12.4% of the vote).

“It’s obviously a relief, even if I had thrown myself fully into this exciting mandate,” reacts Marie-Do Aeschlimann, who will now have to resolve a new dilemma and choose between her mandate as regional advisor, since she is vice -president of the region, and her role as deputy mayor of Asnières, where she is in charge of education.
“I'm giving myself a few more days because it's a difficult choice that I avoided planning for, preferring to deal with one deadline after another,” explains the senator.
Another parliamentarian relieved by the rejection of the appeals, Isabelle Florennes (MoDem), who was second on the centrist list led by the boss of the UDI and outgoing senator Hervé Marseille.
“These last six months have not been the most peaceful because there was always this fear,” explains the woman who has also just been re-elected president of MoDem 92.
“Today, I look towards the five and a half years that remain with very important issues,” continues Isabelle Florennes, whose list had obtained 441 ballots, closely followed by the list of the left (PCF-PS -EELV) led by outgoing senator Pierre Ouzoulias (PCF), who had totaled 439 ballots.

It was therefore by just two votes that the seat of senator escaped Catherine Candelier (EELV), who had decided to contest the election before the Constitutional Council.
But his grievances were all dismissed.
They essentially related to the very organization of the vote by the Hauts-de-Seine prefecture, which took place under the control of the president of the Nanterre court.
“The north face of Mont-Blanc was a little difficult, it is for me an outcome with a very bitter taste”, analyzes the elected environmentalist from Sèvres, who regrets that the Sages did not “detail their decision in more detail”. she who still believes that “the accumulation of irregularities” should have led to the cancellation of the vote.
While admitting to regret the strategy of La France Insoumise (LFI) which had decided to present an autonomous list, depriving the PCF-PS-EELV list of 56 precious ballots which would have made the difference.
