“We have issued an order to prohibit this event due to the risk of disturbing public order.

Kémi Séba regularly makes anti-Semitic remarks and speeches calling for hatred and violence,” we are told at the prefecture.

Furthermore, “to ensure that the conference does not take place, a police force has been provided”.

Targeted by a procedure for forfeiture of nationality

Olivier Corzani, mayor of Fleury-Mérogis, claims to have worked in concert with the prefecture.

“I was made aware of the event mid-week, Tuesday March 12,” explains the councilor.

Preachers of hate have no place in Fleury-Mérogis or elsewhere, especially in the ultra-tense context we are experiencing at the moment.

I welcome this ban order.

On February 29, the Franco-Beninese activist, who has lived in Cotonou (Benin) since 2017, announced that he was the subject of a nationality forfeiture procedure.

The activist shared on his social networks the document from the Ministry of the Interior that he received, and which BFMTV was able to authenticate.

The Ministry of the Interior accuses him of “a constant and current resolutely anti-French posture” as well as “seriously harming French interests”.

“Under the cover of positions hostile to the country's foreign policy, you broadcast particularly virulent, even outrageous messages against France, its representatives and its military forces, inciting rebellion,” the document specifies.

The activist intended to “respond to the government”

The activist announced his press conference on Twitter on the morning of March 14.

He intended to “respond to the French government” in the presence of his lawyers.

Kémi Séba presents himself as an “African revolutionary in the 21st century” and “president of the Pan-Africanist Emergency NGO”.

During his speeches, the activist attacks France's policy in Africa and overseas.

According to him, the African continent should lead a revolution against neocolonialism.
