Kreuth will no longer have its own tourist information (TI) in the future.
In order to save costs, the municipality decided to close the TI completely at the end of the year.
Kreuth
- The decision was made on Thursday evening (March 14th) at the public council meeting: the committee voted against one vote in favor of closing the tourist information office on November 30th, 2024.
This means that the mountaineering village of Kreuth will be the first municipality on Tegernsee that no longer has its own TI with personal contacts for holidaymakers.
Mayor speaks of changed guest behavior in Kreuth
Mayor Josef Bierschneider (CSU) explained at the meeting that the opening hours of the Kreuth tourist information center had recently been significantly reduced.
Due to the retirement of employee Gabi Strobl and the “overall change in guest behavior in the Kreuth community,” the decision was made to close the tourist information “to further save costs,” according to a press release issued on Friday by Tegernseer Tal Tourismus GmbH (TTT) was subsequently submitted.
The number of TI positions at Tegernsee is reduced to a total of four.
The tourist information center in Bad Wiessee had just moved from the savings bank building to its new home in the Wiessee town hall just a few days ago.
TTT: “Centralization measures” make the closure of the TI possible
In its press release, the TTT speaks of “successfully implemented centralization measures” and a “well-coordinated guest and host service”.
This makes the closure of the Kreuther Tourist Information possible.
Guests and hosts will continue to have personal contacts, assures the TTT.
“In addition, the surrounding tourist information centers also provide support.” The advisory services “available” in Kreuth benefit the active area of Tourismus GmbH “and thus also directly benefit the mountaineering village of Kreuth.”
A digital information point will be set up in Kreuth
There are also numerous digitization measures that are available to guests: For example, the TegernseeApp, which acts as a digital travel companion, and an additional digital information point that will be set up in the municipality of Kreuth.
