A new citizens' initiative wants to ensure better coexistence and more dialogue in Markt Schwaben.

The goals for more diversity and cohesion...

Markt Schwaben – What to do when the tone becomes increasingly rough?

Four young market Swabians thought so too and founded an initiative with which they want to repair the “rift in the local community”.

Iulia Moaca, Andreas Gammel, Alina Hartmann and Florian Kaiser formulated four points for “MS Together”.

Initiative Markt Schwaben Together: Against harsh tone, for more diversity and cohesion in society

They are concerned with diversity, cohesion, dialogue, a clear commitment to a fundamental right to asylum and an open-minded society.

“We want a friendly, open and diverse Swabian market in which we focus on what we have in common and in which we all feel comfortable, regardless of our origins.” This feeling of well-being, or not feeling well, was the trigger for the initiative.

Iulia Moaca and Andreas Gammel, like many other citizens of Markt Swabia, were at the information event in the Theater am Burgerfeld on December 19th last year on the subject of asylum homes.

“Before the event, the AfD handed out pieces of paper with questions.

Almost all of these questions were asked during the event,” said Moaca.

“The mood was heated,” the 30-year-old continues, “and a woman who said that people were coming here was booed.”

They hadn't expected the way they interacted with each other and it was clear to them that something had changed in their hometown.

In short, a short time later the citizens' initiative MS Miteinander was founded.

“We don’t want to be a counterpart to anything, we want people here to start talking again and develop a sense of togetherness.”

On Sunday, March 17th, together with the Munich Spring Awakening Association, they will set up colorful chairs on the market square from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

In this way, passers-by should be able to talk to each other again about all the topics that are considered important.

Everyone is welcome at the marketplace and also at MS Miteinander.

There are now more members.
