The railway completed repairs on the railway line between Karlsruhe and Wörth (Germersheim district) on Friday afternoon.
Trains there have been running regularly again since 2:30 p.m., as a Deutsche Bahn press spokesman announced.
Unknown people had stolen hundreds of meters of fiber optic and copper cable along the route.
Because of the crime on Thursday night in the Knielingen district of Karlsruhe, there were significant restrictions on regional and S-Bahn traffic between Karlsruhe and Neustadt.
Karlsruhe/Wörth - The RE 6, RB 51 and the S 3 were affected. dpa
