Two newborn maned wolf specimens, also known as "maned wolves", showed up a few days after the first month of life at the Parco Natura Viva in Bussolengo (Verona), where the parents, Numo and Pàlida, are hosted .
The little ones, born on February 16th, are still all black, with a ruffled coat, unlike the fawn coat, long legs and tapered snout of the adult specimens.
They move and play awkwardly, waiting for the first veterinary visit that will decide their sex.

Classified as "near threatened" by the International Union for Conservation of Nature, it is a species that in the wild inhabits the prairies of South America.

The little ones stay near the shelters, and play with anything that moves among the branches.
A typical behavior of the maned wolf, which in nature is suffering the main threat of the conversion of wild habitats with agricultural production, risking being hit by cars and attacks by domestic dogs.
