The stable weather with which the week started continues in Spain.
"The rains will be scarce this weekend and will be limited to points in Galicia, while temperatures will be high for the season, especially on Sunday, when they will exceed 25° in large areas of the east and south of the Peninsula, and It may even be around 30° in parts of the southeast,” summarizes Rubén del Campo, spokesperson for the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), detailing that these are values “typical of mid-May, even early June in the southeast.” .
Monday “will be a similar day” but, from then on and over the following days, a thermal drop will occur.
Also, it will rain, but there are several possible scenarios.
In principle, the one with the most votes to receive water is the northern third.
To begin with, this Friday "will be a calm day, although clouds will grow in the afternoon that may leave some showers in parts of the interior, perhaps somewhat more intense in Catalonia and possibly accompanied by hail."
On Saturday the predominance of this anticyclonic weather will continue, "although in Galicia the skies will be cloudy and it will rain, especially in the west of the community, without ruling out that four drops may fall in nearby areas."
There will be a clear rise in thermometers, especially in the south and in the Canary Islands.
“In the Cantabrian Sea and the Mediterranean area it will reach 22° to 24°, in the Guadalquivir it will reach 25° and in Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura it could exceed 30°,” Del Campo details.
In these eastern Canary Islands there will also be the presence of haze.

On Sunday, a new general rise in temperatures is expected on the Peninsula: “25° will be reached in cities in the Cantabrian Sea such as Bilbao and also in the interior such as Ourense, Teruel or Ciudad Real.
Seville and Córdoba will reach 28° and Murcia at 30°, as in large areas of the Canary Islands and even 32° in parts of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura.”
The rains will hardly make an appearance, "except for some weak and isolated precipitation in the north of Galicia and the occasional shower in the Pyrenees."
It will be a day of temperatures in general "between 5° and 10° degrees higher than normal for this time of year in almost the entire country", a situation that will be repeated on Monday.
This day "there will not be big changes, but temperatures could even rise a little more in the southeast."
30° will be reached in the early afternoon in large areas of the Valencian Community, Murcia and eastern Andalusia, locally even 32° in points in the southeast of the peninsula.
However, "in the Canary Islands temperatures will begin to normalize with the return of the trade winds to the archipelago."
The rain will appear in the northern third of the peninsula, where a front will leave rainfall especially in Galicia, Cantabrian communities and the Pyrenees, with some snowfall in mountain areas.
On Tuesday, more anticyclonic weather, "although with an almost general drop in temperatures, except on the Mediterranean coast, where the very warm atmosphere will continue."
Starting Wednesday, the forecast becomes more complicated and several scenarios are being considered.
“The presence of low pressures in the area of Spain would lead to rain, but it is difficult to determine the areas where they will be more abundant, as it will depend on the final position that these storms adopt,” explains the Aemet spokesperson.
In principle, with the forecasts available this Friday, "the largest accumulations will occur in Galicia, Cantabrian communities and the Pyrenees, with snowfall in mountain areas, without also ruling out that it may rain in areas of the Mediterranean, especially in the northeast."
As for temperatures, there will be drops starting on Tuesday, which will continue in the following days, but they will remain high for the season, especially in the east.
“And it is possible that they will rise again for next weekend,” concludes the expert.
