The Israeli who was killed last night (Friday) in an accident in Angola is Harardo Dvir, an agronomist, 63 years old, from Afula.

He left a wife, Ronit, 64, a kindergarten teacher, four children: Tiran, 41, Arbel, 40, Dotan, 35, Carmel, 34 and two granddaughters, Agam and Meli.

Dvir's body will be flown to Israel in the coming days.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is assisting in her release and the arrangements for her transfer.

As of now, the date of the funeral has not yet been set.

Harardo Dvir, who was born in Argentina and immigrated to Israel at the age of 18, worked in Africa since 2008 as a consultant for the establishment of agricultural projects and farms.

"He was self-taught, and this was his passion," his widow Ronit told Walla!

"He saw it as a mission in a country that had gone through 30 years of war. Even a Zionist mission. As part of his work, he brought many agricultural delegations for training at Kibbutz Ramat Hasofet."

For the past 16 years, Dvir has lived on the Israel-Angola line, three months there, two weeks in Israel with his family.

Another such vacation was due in a week.

After many years as an employee in an Israeli company, about two years ago he opened an independent company in the field.

The accident happened at night in an area about 6 hours away from the capital Luanda where he lived.

As far as is known, he and another man who worked with him were already on their way home from one of the remote agricultural farms, when their vehicle collided with a truck at night.

The two were evacuated to the municipal hospital in the coastal town of Porto Amboim in Cuanza Sul province.

His death was determined there.

The other was hospitalized.

"If there is any consolation it is that at least he died doing what he loved the most" his widow eulogized him.

The three sons, the daughter, and the daughter-in-law Mali, who are sitting in the family home in Afula waiting for his coffin, added that "he was humble and kind-hearted, a loving father and grandfather and loved by all. This is a tragedy for everyone who knew him. He was a big man in his body that could not be missed. We always said he was larger than life And here, such a tragic end."
