In an exclusive interview, “Rote Rosen” newcomer Lucas Bauer talks about his role, his relationship status and a possible return to “Dahoam is Dahoam”.
Lüneburg – Lucas Bauer is one of the new “Rote Rosen” actors joining the ARD telenovela in the 20th season.
On June 22, 2022, Lucas Bauer can be seen on “Rote Rosen” for the first time - the former “Dahoam is Dahoam” actor revealed in an interview with 24hamburg.de what attracted him to the role of Finn Schmidt.

“Finn basically has the world at his feet and he doesn’t cause any offense anywhere.
That changes suddenly when Nici comes into his life and it turns out that she is trans.
For the first time he finds himself in conflict with himself as he is confronted with antiquated social norms,” says Lucas Bauer about his “Red Roses” character Finn, who falls in love with Nici, played by ex-GNTM candidate Lucy Hellenbrecht Reichard in love.
“I was immediately fascinated by this arc of suspense and I’m very happy to be part of this story.”
Rote Rosen (ARD): Can Lucas Bauer imagine a return to “Dahoam is Dahoam”?
“Rote Rosen” newcomer Lucas Bauer became known through “Dahoam is Dahoam”.
For seven years, Bauer was one of the main actors in the BR series as Patrick Westenrieder before he announced his exit in 2019.
Nevertheless, many fans are still hoping for Bayern to return to “Dahoam is Dahoam”, but Lucas Bauer cannot give them high hopes at the moment.
Newcomer Lucas Bauer wants to convince the “Rote Rosen” viewers as the good-humored sonny boy Finn Schmidt.

“I wouldn't rule anything out across the board,” emphasizes Lucas Bauer in an interview with 24hamburg.de, “but my full focus is on 'Red Roses' and I'm looking forward to the new challenge.” The initial reactions were “consistently positive,” even if Bauer actually only appears in episode 3586 in the new season of “Rote Rosen”.
“I hope that doesn’t change after the first few broadcasts, people will have to put up with me for quite some time.”
Rote Rosen (ARD): Does Finn actor Lucas Bauer have a girlfriend?
In “Rote Rosen” Finn and Nici fall madly in love with each other.
But could there also be a private spark between Lucas Bauer and his series partner Lucy Hellenbrecht?
Hellenbrecht already ruled this out in an exclusive interview with 24hamburg.de.
“Lucas and I got to know each other on a very friendly level right from the start.
“That’s why I’ve never looked at him from the perspective of whether he could be a dream man for me,” said the transgender model.

And flirting on the “Rote Rosen” set is not an issue for Lucas Bauer either, because the former “Dahoam is Dahoam” star has been off the market for a long time.
“I’ve been in a relationship for years,” Bauer reveals to 24hamburg.de in an interview.
This means the actor can fully concentrate on his role in the ARD telenovela, for which the Munich native took him to the far north.

While Lüneburg is “a little too village-like” for his “Rote Rosen” colleague Lucy Hellenbrecht, as she admitted to 24hamburg.de, Lucas Bauer feels right at home in the Lower Saxony Hanseatic city.
“I was actually able to settle in to Lüneburg very quickly, as part of my family has lived in the area around Lüneburg for years.
“So I knew in advance what I was getting myself into,” emphasizes the “Rote Rosen” newcomer in the interview.
“Rote Rosen” has been filmed in Lüneburg since 2006, and Lucas Bauer has been in front of the camera there every day for the ARD telenovela since April 2022.
“My expectations were even exceeded: strolling through the old town during the day on non-filming days, looking around at the weekly market or meeting colleagues at Stint or on Schröderstrasse for dinner or coffee - that's the spirit,” says the actor enthusiastically.

But it wasn't just the city that made it easy for him to get used to it, but also the entire "Rote Rosen" team.
“I already knew a few colleagues who were lucky enough to film 'Rote Rosen' before me,” reveals Lucas Bauer.
“When I asked, they always told me that the team was really unique.
And what should I say?
I can only completely agree with that.”

Each episode of “Rote Rosen” is almost 50 minutes long; on average, one complete episode of the telenovela has to be produced per day.
Quite a workload for the actors, which is nothing new for the former “Dahoam is Dahoam” actor Lucas Bauer, as the BR series is also a daily soap.
“We are usually picked up from home early in the morning and then arrive a few minutes later in masks and costumes.
Depending on how short the night was, the mask time may have to be extended to get the dark circles under the eyes under control,” says Lucas Bauer with a laugh.
“Afterwards there is usually enough time to go through the text with colleagues over breakfast.
Then it’s off to the set,” says the Finn actor about his everyday life on “Rote Rosen”.
You definitely won't get bored while filming!
“When I have a break from a few scenes, I often go through the lines for the subsequent scenes.
During longer breaks, I also take a trip to the gym or do short errands.”

The telenovela's broadcast date is always Monday to Friday at 2:10 p.m. on Erste.
