Fürstenfeldbruck - City councilors and board members of the Bruck Citizens' Association (BBV) met with Mayor Christian Götz at the beginning of March for the spring retreat at the Oberen Wirt in Biburg.
In several subject areas it became clear that all participants wanted lively member and citizen participation in local political issues.
Promote interest and transparency
At the beginning of the year, several working groups on topics such as “Environment and Transport” and “Democratic Consciousness” were initiated in the BBV, in which members can participate.
From now on, regular email newsletters will inform the “BBV community” about the results of the working groups, important matters from the BBV city council group and about the board's decisions.
In order to promote the transparency of local politics and the political interest of the population of Bruck, information should be offered on the newly designed BBV website and in other social media - the AK “Public Relations” will take care of this.
Defend against anti-democratic tendencies
The topics of “citizen participation” and “political awareness” inevitably led to the challenge of how to counter right-wing radical currents in Fürstenfeldbruck.
The numerous proposals made it clear that the BBV will defend itself against anti-democratic tendencies.
To this end, the partnership project with an Israeli municipality was supported, without ignoring the difficulties of such a project - the current security situation, distance.
Further points of discussion were the possible renovation options for the pigeon house in the Aumühlen area and tree planting in public spaces (project proposal “Tree sponsorships by citizens”).
Finally, thinking went beyond the Bruck borders and proposals were drawn up to intensify cooperation with the independent citizens' associations in the Fürstenfeldbruck district (UBV) - especially with a view to the local elections coming up in two years.
