Ludwig Schmid, in his role as Brother Barnabas, relentlessly exposed numerous local politicians on two evenings in the sold-out council hall.
Geretsried – Before and after, the Gartenberger Bunkerblasmusik created a party atmosphere.
While local political celebrities largely stayed away from the now 19th strong beer festival on Friday, Bundestag member Karl Bär, district administrator Josef Niedermaier and his two deputies Thomas Holz and Klaus Koch as well as mayors from the surrounding communities appeared on Saturday evening.
Only the mayor of Geretsried, Michael Müller, was missing.
“Yesterday at noon, the last anteroom announced in response to the invitation from January 12th that there were some scheduling conflicts, but that the mayor wished me a nice evening,” Barnabas quoted the rejection.
He then compared himself with District Administrator Josef Niedermaier.
Like him, Tölzer is “a baker who plays the clarinet and has to get into trouble with mayors from time to time.”
In contrast to Barnabas, Niedermaier is even being sued.
After a serious plea for the admission of refugees who needed to be helped, the Lenten preacher remembered Chancellor Olaf Scholz's visit to the Gelting geothermal drilling site.
“I would have loved to have been there.
I would then have handed him a mug of beer and said: Let's go, Olaf.
Cum.
Ex.”, he regretted.
In between, Brother Barnabas honored the former building yard manager Helmut Hodolitsch as a Geretsrieder Original - an award that “Baker Grandma” Anna Schmid, Edi Hien, Erich Fischer, Marlies Effenberger, Jochen Sternkopf and Rudi Utzinger had received in previous years.
Defamatory speeches at the end at the Geretsried Strong Beer Festival
The Lenten sermon ended with diatribes about the underground car park under Karl-Lederer-Platz and lengthy Wolfratshauser car park plans.
Afterwards, the visitors were able to demonstrate their muscle strength and estimation skills by sawing pounds.

The evening ended with the groovy hits and rock songs from the Gartenberger Bunkerblasmusik, in which Münsingen Mayor Michael Grasl helped out on the tuba and District Administrator Josef Niedermaier on the clarinet.
