Dear readers, dear subscribers and advertisers of this newspaper!

Well, has this form of address already pissed you off?

There are few topics that are as polarizing as gender, i.e. gender-sensitive language.

CSU boss and Prime Minister Markus Söder wants to ban gender in Bavaria, at least in state institutions.

In doing so, he provides the AfD, one of the main opponents of gender, with a clear template.

And the Erdinger AfD district council faction is cleverly taking advantage of this: They are requesting that the district council bring its rules of procedure back to the status of 2020 - therefore no longer changed.

She relies on the CSU, of all people.

There is little or nothing to suggest that the district committee will approve the application; it is too crude for that.

Nevertheless, the AfD has once again managed to get close to the CSU - in the hope of being able to fish in the conservative camp.

Söder's gender ban is completely unnecessary.

Why not gender and let gender – analogous to the Bavarian motto “live and let live”?

Anyone who wants to change gender should do so.

Anyone who thinks it's stupid should leave it alone.

It's that simple. There's no need for a culture of prohibition, like the CSU always accuses the Greens of.

But the advocates of gendering with a capital I or even an asterisk should note one thing: This is a blow to simple language, it is against accessibility.

There is another example where the Union provides support to the AfD: with the obligation to work for asylum seekers.

In order for refugees to sweep their accommodation, shovel snow and mow the lawn, they don't need this boo-boo.

It's easy to do, and it's already happening.

Anything beyond that is just theory.

There aren't many jobs available, the work would have to be supervised, and competition with the private sector should be avoided.

Apart from a Thuringian district administrator, the Erdinger AfD was among the first to demand this obligation for the district.

Only then did state politicians jump on the bandwagon.

What conclusions should we draw from this?
