While the autopsy did not provide any additional information concerning the death of Myriam, 14 years old who had run away from her child welfare home, the toxicological analyzes spoke.
The report identifies the presence in the urine of cocaine at a low dose but not in the blood, which demonstrates that the last consumption was several hours ago, as well as cannabis in the blood but at a low concentration but especially acetone at a level between 3 and 4 times higher than the toxicity rate.
“Acetone can be caused by uncontrolled diabetes, and can lead to diabetic ketoacidosis which causes significant toxic effects that can be life-threatening.
The most likely hypothesis is therefore that the young girl died as a result of untreated diabetes,” explains Arnaud Faugère, the public prosecutor of Fontainebleau.
