There was a crowd this Friday March 15 at the brand new Corbeil-Essonnes operational center of the equally new T-Zen 4. Valérie Pécresse, president (Libres!) of the region and of Île-de-France Mobilités (IDFM, l transport authority), officials, financiers and other project stakeholders wore orange vests for the inauguration of the logistics nerve center for the new Essonne bus.
With its 24 m long, the T-Zen 4 is a bi-articulated behemoth which will be able to transport 140 passengers, or even 180 during rush hour.
It will run between “La Treille” in Viry-Chatillon and the Corbeil-Essonnes RER station, in place of the current line 402. Its entry into service could take place before the end of the year.
But although impressive, it's not its size that interests you on this rainy morning, it's its technology.
