Election of commander at the Hörlkofen fire department: Andreas Thaler and Michael Thaller continue to lead the force.
It is the “flagship in the social life of the community,” said Mayor Thomas Gneißl.
Hörlkofen - The active troops of the Hörlkofen fire department remain under proven leadership: In the election at the Hörlkofen sports center for “Giuseppe”, the new innkeeper, 1st commander Andreas Thaler and 2nd commander Michael Thaller were confirmed in their positions “with an overwhelming majority”.
The fire department said in a press release that they were both very pleased.
At the annual general meeting, chairman Ludwig Altmann also looked back on the year 2023.
The traditional barbecue festival in June and the wine festival at the beginning of November were very well attended, and many members also took part in the club trip to Kulmbach at the beginning of October.
The fire department also took part in the founding celebrations of the fire departments in Forstern, Eitting and Finsing with a delegation.
Altmann thanked the members for their willingness and support last year.
Mayor Thomas Gneißl, who later led the election of commanders, thanked the board and the commanders in his greeting “for the always good and trusting cooperation for the benefit of the citizens of the community of Wörth”.
The fire department is “a figurehead in the social life of the community”.
Numerous firefighters were honored at the meeting or were given promotions.

Commander Thaler reported a total of 173 missions to which the fire brigade had been alerted.
The active women and men contributed 1,700 hours of voluntary work.
Keywords such as “Zug fire” on February 1st or the major fire on July 30th in Poigenberg were remembered.
December was by far the busiest month with 30 alerts.
Due to the snowy weather at the beginning of December, the fire brigade was very challenged.
Thaler was happy and grateful that they always returned from the missions healthy and intact, and thanked all members for their great commitment: “In a time when people are increasingly looking the other way, you look and are there for the citizens. “
Shortly before Christmas, the firefighters were able to receive their new personnel transport vehicle “Florian Hörlkofen 14/1”.
According to the announcement, he takes on important services in operations, logistics and the youth fire department.
“We are particularly proud of the youth fire department,” said Thaler.
She is very hard-working and in 2023 she more than doubled the hours she worked compared to the previous year.
It was particularly important to Thaler to say a big thank you to the community and the mayors.
The “great trust” and the “always appreciative cooperation” are good.

The fire department is very proud of its “girls”: The commanders and the chairman were particularly pleased that they were able to honor Maria Waldinger and Veronika Förg for 25 years of active service.
