President
Javier Milei
this Saturday revived the Government's initiative to advance the landing of Sports Joint Stock Companies (SAD) in Argentine football and revealed that he had a talk with the former forward of Independiente, the National Team and Manchester City,
Sergio Agüero
.
"I have had the joy of being able to speak with Agüero. I want to highlight that he is a person of
unconventional intelligence
, he has a surprising analytical depth and understands the nature of the proposal we make," Milei highlighted at the beginning of his response about the possible arrival of the SAD to Argentine football.
Milei was emphatic in pointing out in an interview with radio Miter that his proposal is not to demand that the clubs be private, "but that there is the possibility that
if someone wants to have a private club they can have it
."
The libertarian president said that his objective is not to impose a model, but rather "other societal schemes that can interpret football with a different logic."
A week ago, the President announced that
Manchester City "wants to buy a club from Argentina, a very big one
. "
And he added about the clubs: "If they were clean they would allow competition, but since they are dirty they do not allow competition. The best symptom that there is a mafia is that they do not allow competition."
At the end of 2023 he had referred to the interest of another Premier League institution, Chelsea, to land in Argentina.
Agüero himself
referred to the matter in a stream
on his Twitch channel and alluded to an eventual collaboration to bring the City Group closer to Independiente.
"If God wants it to happen, I would love to get in there.
I already know who to go look for
," said Kun, in a possible allusion to City, of which he is an idol.
And he added: "They are people of good faith and I have a very good relationship with them. Surely they would be delighted to make a club like Independiente progress."
The possibility of creating the SAD is included in the mega DNU that was rejected on Thursday in the Senate and that now goes to Deputies.
In any case, the AFA, which opposes the Government's initiative, received a nod from justice.

A precautionary measure stops the DNU articles on SAD in Argentine football
The good news for the AFA led by Claudio Tapia also arrived on Thursday.
The Justice confirmed the precautionary measure that suspends the articles of the DNU that would allow the transformation of civil associations into sports corporations (SAD).
On January 30, federal judge Elpidio Portocarrero Tezanos Pinto, in charge of the Federal Court of Mercedes, received the presentation made by the Jumping League, affiliated with the Argentine Football Association through the Federal Council (chaired by Pablo Toviggino), and applied a precautionary measure to stop its implementation.
The controversy that arose between the world of football and the DNU signed by Milei in his first weeks in office is reduced specifically to articles 335 and 345, which proposed the modification of the statutes of sports associations, federations and confederations.
It was the Federal Chamber of San Martín that confirmed this precautionary measure, pointing out that the implementation of said articles “
alters the state of affairs of a social impact group
such as sports entities, since it prevents them from developing their associative life.”
Furthermore, it highlights that the debate on these articles does not comply with the regulations established by the issuance of a DNU:
there is no need or urgency
, and there is nothing that would prevent its parliamentary treatment.
The SAD proposal in Argentine football is an old project promoted by Mauricio Macri and picked up by Javier Milei, turning it into an issue that was included in the campaign when the AFA clubs came out to support Sergio Massa in the runoff.
