Olching wants to prevent heat waves: two more drinking water fountains are planned in the city.

Olching – The Greens had applied for this, and it went through.

However, it is not quite as feasible as expected.

Mayor Andreas Magg (SPD) reported on the current status at the most recent meeting of the main committee: “After careful investigation, the location at Olchinger See is not working.” The problem lies on the technical side, among other things because of the high groundwater level.

Lines would have to be extended.

“It would only work with considerable additional financial effort.”

In Schwaigfeld

This brings us to the location that was desired next: Schwaigfeld.

The free spring is to be built in the area of the Kunterbunt/Regenbogen kindergartens, the middle school and the inclusion playground or other playgrounds in Grünanger.

The area is well frequented, which is an essential requirement.

The exact location is still being determined.

Esting

Town hall boss Magg now needed the consent to get everything started as quickly as possible.

The committee members gave the green light.

The project could be implemented as early as summer.

Another fountain location is planned at the train station in Esting.

There is already a drinking fountain bubbling away at Nöscherplatz.

The Bavarian Ministry of the Environment has launched a funding program for municipal drinking fountains.

90 percent of the expenses are covered, but a maximum of 15,000 euros per item.

The city has budgeted around 26,000 euros.
