Kronach - A serious traffic accident occurred on Wednesday involving a seven-year-old boy and a 32-year-old driver.

The boy suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital.

The Upper Franconia police announced this in a press release on Friday (March 15).

“At around 4:10 p.m., the 32-year-old drove his Audi through the Gehülz throughpass in the direction of Kronach,” says the press release.

A school bus stopped at a bus stop to let the passengers off.

Among the passengers getting out was the seven-year-old boy who suddenly stepped onto the road in front of the bus and was hit by the passing Audi.

The boy was taken to a children's clinic by ambulance (symbolic image).

“The student collided with the right wing mirror of the car and sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries,” the police continued.

An ambulance transported the boy to a nearby children's hospital.
