The first meadow-breeding bird species return from their winter quarters to the Loisach-Kochelsee moors.
That's why nature conservation wardens and area managers will provide information about the threatened species and the rules of conduct at two information stands on Sunday, March 17th, starting at 9 a.m.
Benediktbeuern/Kochel am See – The first information stand is located west of the Benediktbeuern monastery, on Moosmühlweg towards Loisach.
The second stand is in Kochel an der Loisach at the junction to the fitness trail.
The Loisach-Kochelsee moors are a hotspot of biological diversity.
Curlews and lapwings have already returned from their winter quarters in southern Europe.
From March 20th, restrictions on recreational use will apply to protect the meadow-nesting bird species.
For example, dogs are required to be kept on a leash.
All walkers and cyclists are also asked to only use the main paths.
The information stands provide interesting information about the animals and plants and why the region is a “treasure chest” for them.
