The governor of the Russian region of Samara declared this Saturday March 16 that Ukrainian drones had struck two oil refineries belonging to the state oil giant Rosneft in the region, without causing any casualties.

The Syzran refinery in the Volga region was on fire, but another attack on the Novokubyshev refinery was foiled, Governor Dmitry Azarov said in a statement on Telegram.
He added that workers at both factories had been evacuated and there were no casualties.
Major fire
Unverified footage posted online showed what appeared to be a major fire at the Syzran refinery, with emergency services working at the scene.
In recent weeks, Ukraine has heavily targeted Russian oil infrastructure, striking refineries across European Russia.
The governor of the border province of Belgorod, which has suffered near constant attacks in recent months, said five people, including a child, were injured in a drone attack on a car traveling near the Ukrainian border.
