The new week starts mildly in Franconia, but there could be a cold snap next weekend.
A weather expert comments.
Nuremberg - The weekend started stormy in many parts of Bavaria.
There were even several warnings from the German Weather Service for Saturday, March 16th.
Sunday, however, remains quiet and there are no reports for the Free State.
Mild temperatures in Franconia – then the snow line drops
In Franconia there will be no precipitation on Sunday due to an intermediate high influence.
The maximum temperature is 12 degrees.
“A warm front will bring us mostly cloudy skies with isolated light rain on Monday.
The temperatures are 11 degrees,” reports weather expert Stefan Ochs (
wetterochs.de
) in his forecast for the Regnitz region.
On Tuesday the temperatures even rise to 14 to 16 degrees.
A few showers cannot be ruled out, but it should mostly stay dry.
According to Ochs, there will be little wind until Wednesday, but on Thursday “we will get into a westerly current and it will be unstable and windy.
At the beginning it will be relatively warm, before there will be a significant cooling over the next weekend with the snowfall line dropping to 500 m. Afterwards, night frosts would be expected again," according to the weather expert's forecast for Franconia.

Weather in Bavaria: Cold snap possible
However, the cold snap next weekend is currently only 70 percent certain.
“There are also some mild variants in the weather model runs,” says Ochs.
It remains to be seen whether winter will return after the meteorological start of spring on March 20th.
