Kaan 11's military reporter Carmela Menashe was at the center of an online storm over the weekend, due to her publication that the Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir, offered to let Major General Mordechai Kahane serve as the director general of the Ministry of Internal Security.
Menashe wrote: "Minister Itamar Ben Gvir suggested to his nephew of Meir Kahane, the head of the movement so that he was assassinated to serve as the director general of the Ministry of Internal Security, during the war, Ben Gvir turned to the military commander Mordechai Kahane, who serves as the head of the headquarters of Division 36 in Gaza, to serve as the director general of his office, Kahane explained later that he was still in the reserves.
The uproar stemmed from the fact that Menashe presented him in the article as "Meir Kahana's nephew" and many, especially on the right, claimed that this was his "little" and an attempt to paint him politically.
Right-wing activist Shamai Glick, the CEO of the "Bezelmo" association, went so far as to address the corporation in a letter of demand to "immediately suspend the reporter Carmela Menashe.
Today in Israel and in the world it is forbidden to mention the origin or nationality of the attacker.
With the understanding that this causes a negative connotation towards that race.
And here is no less and no more an official article from the corporation as well as an official tweet from the corporation's reporter doing it but in the most disgusting way ever seen," Glick explained the demand.
In a stormy conversation on Radio 103, Erel Segal and David Wertheim also discussed the original item, and addressed the oldest question in history The Jewish woman: Who is really engineering the consciousness here? Listen.
