How are the groups of the 2024 Copa Libertadores designated?
The 32 participants will be divided into four pots of eight teams, according to their location in the ranking published by CONMEBOL in 2023. Fluminense, as the last champion, is seeded in group A, while the other members of pot 1 will lead the zones B, C, D, E, F, G and H, and will play against an opponent from the rest of the pots.
Two teams from the same country cannot be in the same zone, it will only be allowed if one arrived from the preliminary phase.
When does the Copa Libertadores start?
The group stage of the Copa Libertadores will begin in the first week of April, from Tuesday the 2nd to Thursday the 4th and will end with date 6 on Wednesday, May 29.
Then, it will continue with the elimination phase, which will begin on August 14, after the Copa América, and the grand final will be on November 30.
