The underwater Gondoliers who today immersed themselves in two canals in Venice, those of San Trovaso and Giustinian, recovered 15 quintals of waste, setting a seasonal "record".
It was the penultimate dive of the season, before the last one on April 21st in Murano.
The cleaning activity was coordinated by the city management for the development, promotion and protection of traditions and public greenery, together with the Municipality's technicians they identified the area.
Iron material was recovered from the seabed, a "stirella" still attached to the base, three radiators, one of which was cast iron, two boilers, iron pipes and three gutters, three meters long.
So two propellers, one in bronze and the other in aluminium, four mobile phones, 40 tyres, thousands of glass bottles and an identity card.
Everything was delivered to the multiutility Veritas for disposal.
