Capricious weather caused the Langenbach fire department a lot of work last year.

The volunteers mastered the challenge with flying colors - and presented themselves in a good position.

Langenbach

– With impressive (deployment) figures, well-prepared new elections as well as honors and new appointments, the Langenbach fire department once again proved at the annual general meeting that it is a very well-positioned, committed force.

Accordingly, it wasn't just Mayor Susanne Hoyer who said “Thank you for everything and everyone of you”.

Last year, the Langenbach fire department, which currently has 51 active members, carried out 105 missions and thus 826 hours of service for the general public, as Commander Thomas Schmidt reported.

He and his colleagues will remember the total of 68 missions (317 hours) in August, when countless cellars had to be pumped out after a violent storm - especially on Ulmenstrasse.

In December, too, the Florians' disciples were challenged by the capricious weather: after the massive snowfall, they were required to complete seven missions for a total of 110 hours.

33 exercises (842 hours), 32 training courses (564), five respiratory protection exercises (44) and ten service meetings (159) add up to the hours for youth work (486), equipment maintenance and equipment (530) as well as public relations and fire safety education (2003). a total number of hours of 5454 hours.

The Langenbach fire department is proud of its youth work: while there were nine young boys in the fire department in 2022, there are now ten boys and two girls in the youth fire department.

This year, too, we want to continue our efforts to attract young talent - especially Anna Winter, who continues to act as youth officer.

All young people aged twelve and over who would like to join the Langenbach fire department are welcome - the exercises take place every two weeks on Wednesdays at 6 p.m.

The new elections brought with them two major changes: Johannes Schüller, who was second chairman of the fire department for six years, resigned from his position.

Christian Haller is following in his footsteps.

And Christian Karl, who took care of the finances for 20 years and “managed the cash register with flying colors,” as the mayor praised, also withdrew from his office.

The new treasurer is now Ariane Kugler.

There are also two new assessors, Manuel Dotzel and Michael Huber.

All other offices remain unchanged.
