In Rottenburg, a runoff election in April will decide on a new mayor.
Two men and one woman ran against incumbent Neher in the election on Sunday.
Rottenburg - Rottenburg's mayor Stephan Neher (CDU) narrowly missed an absolute majority in the mayoral elections on Sunday.
According to the provisional official final result, he received 49.87 percent of the votes cast.
According to the city, there will now be a runoff election on April 7th, in which the second-place doctor Klaus Weber (independent) will run against Neher.
According to the information, Weber received 25.79 percent of the votes cast.
The voter turnout was 46.39 percent.
Neher has been mayor of Rottenburg since June 16, 2008.
There were around 33,700 eligible voters.
Electrical installer and farmer Volkmar Raidt (independent) came in third place in the mayoral election with 19.11 percent of the votes cast.
The administrative employee Christl Glauder (independent) received 4.51 percent of the votes.
