Long days, paperwork and deadbeats: the decline in the number of childminders in Oise

Highlights: The number of childminders has continued to decline each year in Oise for ten years, apart from a slight increase in 2016. In 2010, the department had 7,138 approved childminder, offering 22,262 places for young children. As of December 31, 2023, the Oise departmental council, which issues approvals, only listed 4,325, representing 14,800 reception places. As all these “nannies” have not exercised their profession in the past year, the number of places actually offered is in reality even lower.
