Yulia Navalnaya, the widow of the dead Kremlin opponent Alexei Navalny, also took part in protests against Russian President Vladimir Putin near his country's embassy in Berlin on Sunday.
Navalny's team published footage on Telegram in the afternoon that showed Navalnaya accompanied by spokeswoman Kira Yarmysch in the middle of a crowd on Wilhelmstrasse.
Berlin/Moscow - You can also see Navalnaya being hugged by a woman.
The team wrote the words “Lunch against Putin” - this was the motto under which the protests were announced on the occasion of the presidential election in Russia that ended on Sunday.
According to police, around 800 people took part in the demonstration.
The demonstrators chanted “Victory for Ukraine!
Freedom for Russia!”, “Navalny is a hero of Russia” and “Putin is illegitimate”.
Numerous people waved flags in white-blue-white, which are supposed to be the new colors of a free Russia, as participants said.
According to the police, around 2,000 people lined up right next door in front of the Russian embassy to vote.
Navalnaya and the entrepreneur and Kremlin critic Mikhail Khodorkovsky, who lives in exile in Great Britain, also joined in, as could be seen in videos on the X platform.
A voter had already been queuing for two hours around midday.
The presidential election is overshadowed by allegations of fraud and manipulation.
One month after the death of Alexei Navalny and more than two years after the start of Russia's war of aggression on Ukraine, Kremlin leader Putin wants to secure his fifth term in office.
He has already been confirmed as the winner in advance and is likely to achieve a record result.
