With the new elections of the Sonthofen local branch in the VdK social association, an era ended and there was also a surprise.

– With the new elections at the Sonthofen local association in the VdK social association, an era came to an end.
But the new board around the newly elected chairman Peter Bittner does not want to weaken in its commitment to the interests of the more than 1,400 members.

The surprise came right at the beginning of the 76th general meeting: the long-time chairman of the local association, Peter Götz, was awarded the Golden Badge of Honor from the city of Sonthofen.
The city is expressing its appreciation and recognition of his great commitment to the city and the common good, said Mayor Christian Wilhelm.
And Eberhard Fetzer from Immenstadt, Peter Götz's long-time comrade-in-arms in the efforts to achieve accessibility on the railway in the Allgäu, also praised the "good cooperation on the matter" and the always friendly interaction with everyone involved.
“An era is coming to an end,” said the deputy chairman of the Sonthofen VdK, Georg Waller, when referring to the new elections.
And Peter Götz said goodbye: “After intensive discussions, we have found an adequate successor for the chairmanship.” With Peter Bittner, the meeting elected the 59-year-old independent service provider for seniors and the disabled as the new chairman of the local association.
Walter Haber is now the deputy.
