girl hopes to have a resurgence in her career.

Lohan overcame everything, when she had become a frequent target of the paparazzi and the tabloid media, all due to her legal problems, visits to court and stints in detention centers.
Away from acting, she took refuge with her partner until she felt it was time to return.
Famous for her somewhat hoarse voice, Lohan, who is of Irish descent, plays Maddie in
An Irish Wish
, a book editor who is secretly in love with a super-successful author, Paul Kennedy (Alexander Vlahos), whom, and does not Nobody knows, he wrote his latest best seller.

The film begins with Maddie getting out of a taxi to be at Paul's book launch.
Stunned, when she closes the taxi door she is left holding onto her scarf, which she loses and sets a tone for everything that will be seen: a simple, romantic comedy, with the twists and turns of any self-respecting romantic comedy.
But Maddie doesn't listen to her mother (Jane Seymour), who tells her to declare her love for Paul, and instead, Paul falls in love with Emma, one of Maddie's best friends (Elizabeth Tan, from
Emily in Paris
, another Netflix production).
And there we have Maddie, traveling to Ireland, where she will be Emma's bridesmaid at her wedding to the man of her dreams.
Nod to "Crazy Fridays"?
With a twist or wink that could remind us of
Freaky Friday
(she and Jamie Lee Curtis, who was her mother, exchanged bodies), Maddie sits on some stones, which turns out to be the wishing chair.
A woman appears to him, who we will later learn is Saint Brigid, and Maddie will ask her secret wish: to marry Paul.
Alexander Vlahos is the man of dreams for Lindsay Lohan's character, until something happens.
No sooner said than done.
She doesn't remember what it was like, but the one who is about to say yes, I want, is her and not Emma.
To make matters worse, she meets a “nature” photographer (Ed Speleers), who will end up being the photographer of the wedding and the previous meetings and rehearsals.
Because Paul is from a millionaire family, he lives in an amazing mansion.
Ed Speleers is the photographer who, already in Ireland, falls in love with Maddie.
The director Janeen Damian had already directed the redhead in
Christmas Hit
(2022), one of those comedies that Americans love so much about the Christmas season, but that generally don't catch on in our country.
He doesn't show much talent for comedy here, there are a lot of cliches, not just in the soundtrack, and the fight scene between Maddie's two romantic interests is frighteningly pathetic.
There are many luxuries, an ostentatious production, but the film needs to engage the viewer more.
Lohan is the absolute protagonist, but Maddie's changes of mind and how she tried not to show her love for Paul at the beginning are less than convincing.
