Pöcking

– The Pöcking brass band invites you to a musical journey to the south.

The spring concert next weekend has the motto “Come with us to Italy for a bit”.

Under the musical direction of Markus Maier, listeners can expect a select program with a lot of Italian influence - from the overture of the opera “Nabucco” to a Caterina Valente medley.

There are two dates: On Saturday, March 23rd, the concert starts at 8 p.m. in the Beccult in Pöcking, on Sunday, March 24th, at 4 p.m.

An hour beforehand there is a typical Italian aperitivo in the foyer of the brass band: drinks with appetizers on hand.

And after the Saturday concert there is a cozy conclusion in the foyer, where the musicians enjoy chatting to their guests.

The Pöckingeners had the Caterina Valente medley written specifically for them.

It is a premiere, as the brass band proudly announces.

“Jörg Hartl arranged the medley exclusively for us,” reports chairman Sebastian Scheck.

Hartl is a trumpet player with “LaBrassBanda”.

“La marcia della dolce vita”, the march of the sweet life, will also premiere at the spring concert.

Mathias Eggenhofer, who has played in the Pöcking brass band since he was a child, composed it.

“Mathias is now our co-conductor and is now also devoting himself to composition,” says Scheck about the drummer and flugelhorn player.

Sabine Scherer, who is known from the Ochsenbraterei at the Oktoberfest, enriches the brass band with her singing.

The musicians have prepared a varied program.

“All the pieces have something to do with Italy,” says Scheck.

“Italian marches, classical pieces, and it also gets poppy with film music by Ennio Morricone.” The solo performance by Korbinian Stöckerl is certainly something special: “Czardas as a trombone solo”.

And there's another piece of news: the youth brass band will perform publicly for the first time.

Under the direction of Lukas Bruggaier, 21 young people between the ages of six and 18 will play for the concert's visitors.

Admission to Beccult is free.

The musicians are happy about donations.

How important such donations are to them is shown by the fact that the brass band has formed a support group, which they want to introduce for the first time that evening.

If you want to be part of the spring concert, you can send an email to reservierung@blaskapelle-poecking.de or call 0162/892 42 53.
