After two wins without conceding a goal, VfB Hallbergmoos had the ultimate cold shower: 0:4 (0:1) after 90 minutes at tenth-placed SV Pullach.

Hallbergmoos

- The result sounds bad, but the game wasn't that bad, especially in the first half hour.

From the start, the Hallbergmoosers built on the two games after the winter break and allowed almost nothing.

VfB did well defensively, but they couldn't finish their attacks offensively.

With a handful of counterattack chances, more would have been possible.

But: The last pass didn't arrive - and there was also a lack of determination.

“We failed to shoot at goal in these situations,” criticized coach Christian Endler, “you can’t score without a shot on goal.”

And then came Gilbert Diep, a six-foot-two striker who can make the difference.

In the 37th minute he scored 1-0 almost out of nowhere, significantly the hosts' first real chance to score.

“We didn’t do so well there,” Endler said later.

Impressive record: Diep with 24 goals in 23 state league games

After the break, the striker made it 2-0 from a corner (51st) and improved his impressive record to 24 goals in 23 state league games.

This makes him number one on the top scorer list.

Hallbergmoos, on the other hand, lacks such a goal machine.

Tobias Krause is VfB's best attacker with eleven goals.

After conceding the second goal, the guests lacked the belief that they could breathe new excitement into the game with a good move.

Pullach had everything under control and enjoyed the freedom to try something special.

For example: Kevin Nsimba's 3-0 win (58').

A brilliant free-kick trick in which the yellow-blacks simply played the ball past the wall 30 meters from the goal.

Of course, the man of the day – Gilbert Diep – provided the assist.

The fourth goal from Pullach's Leander Wunder (90th + 3) only had statistical value.

The gap to second place is now seven points again

“Our plan could have worked,” Christian Endler said later.

After all, they weren't as inferior as the numbers suggest.

Now Hallbergmoos also has to swallow the counterattack from the other top teams.

The gap to second place in the table has increased again to seven points after the biggest defeat of the season.

VfB is currently no longer involved at the top.
