With 14,000 km of nylon thread, 750 liters of water, non-ecological and allergenic dyes: the recipe for a pair of traditional tights must make environmental preservation activists sweat.
Especially since each woman consumes around ten pairs per year and often throws them away after three uses.
In France, more than 130 million pairs of tights, impossible to recycle, are sold each year, which represents on average 7,315 tonnes of waste.
To put an end to this environmental disaster, the French brand Axelleroi
(

)
has developed the most resistant mesh on the market, with equivalent opacity.
Thanks to this innovative double-wrapped fiber and reinforced toes and heels, its tights are ten times more resistant than classic models, while being recyclable (Oeko-Tex certified).
In order to optimize their environmental impact, manufacturing is concentrated in Italy, in a family workshop, and all the players in the production line, from design to packaging, are located within a 15 km radius.
As for the factory, it is equipped with technologies to reduce the ecological impact (water treatment, waste reduction, recovery of scraps, etc.).
The Uni Axelleroi tights are available from €29.90.
