Harmonious strong beer festival organized by THW Dachau with beer steins and Ois Easy
Günding – The THW strong beer festival was a complete success and was celebrated by over 600 visitors on Friday in the sold-out accommodation in Günding.
The Dachau party band Ois Easy brought the atmosphere to a boil with ease, and lifting beer mugs provided an amusing change in between.
Yesterday, the THW club chairman looked back on a “harmonious celebration” with which he is completely satisfied.
“My thanks for this evening go above all to our THW volunteers, who transformed the vehicle hall into a magnificently decorated festival hall as well as the other rooms into a tavern, bar and kitchen,” said Sven Langer in his welcome.
Among the guests were, in addition to numerous political representatives from the state parliament as well as the municipality and district of Dachau, of course also representatives from business and various rescue organizations such as the fire department, BRK, police and THW from near and far.
The guests from the Ahr Valley, where the Dachau THW helpers were on flood duty in 2021, as well as the friends of the Diepoldsau fire department from Switzerland also came back to the traditional THW Dachau festival.
After the welcome, the reins went back to the band from the Dachau district, who created a fantastic party atmosphere for young and old at the THW Dachau strong beer festival for the second time this year.
Just a few seconds after the band's countdown, the first guests were on the benches and celebrated extensively and harmoniously with each other.
Exciting beer mug lifting
During the break, the women and men were able to demonstrate their strength by lifting traditional beer steins.
While the men had to complete three preliminary rounds and each had to lift a beer mug weighing five kilos, the women only completed one final round.
The women won a 100 euro voucher from Trachten Ullmann and gift baskets from Bentenrieder Hof.
Bergkirchen's second mayor, Dagmar Wagner, took first place among the women, who competed in a red evening dress but now won the voucher from the traditional costume shop, ahead of Natalie Hünner and Katrin Hölzl.
In the men's final round it was exciting until the end.
In the end, the first prize, a suckling pig, went to Wolfgang Fetting, who took part in the lifting for the first time.
However, the second and third place winners, Maxi Schmid and Michael Max, did not go away empty-handed - they received free allowances.
Afterwards, Ois Easy played again.
Last but not least, singer Helli Strasser announced that the Dachau band would play at the folk festival again this year - which was initially uncertain due to the change of host in the large festival tent.
The guests celebrated the “fifth Bavarian season” in the Dachau THW accommodation until late at night.
The last guests wanted the evening to never end - and then had to be gently escorted out, as Sven Langer reported.
The next day, at 2 p.m., there was no sign of the previous day's strong beer festival.
In the vehicle hall there were again THW vehicles instead of beer sets and in the workshop you could work again without a bar.
