Sarah Scazzi's mother, Concetta, is looking for "a word of truth" on the death of her daughter, killed on 26 August 2010 when she was 15 years old in Avetrana (Taranto).

According to the judges, it was her aunt Cosima Serrano and her cousin Sabrina who were serving a life sentence who killed her.

To find out the truth, Concetta "is available for a discussion, even in private", with Michele Misseri, Sarah's uncle who continues to accuse himself of the murder of his niece, "provided" this discussion "takes place in the presence of his own son" Claudio Scazzi.

Misseri has finished serving an 8-year prison sentence for the suppression of Sarah's body and has returned to the 'villa of horrors', where the 15-year-old was killed, a few days after his release from prison on 11 February.

The news of Concetta's willingness to meet Misseri is published by the Gazzetta del Mezzogiorno which reports the words of Sarah's family's lawyer, Luigi Palmieri.

The latter refers to a letter from Valentina Misseri, Sabrina's sister, published in recent days by La Stampa.

In the letter, Sarah's cousin talks about the possibility of Concetta meeting her father, saying however that "a media trial" is still being sought because this confrontation - according to her father - would have taken place "in the presence of journalists" and not in private or in the presence of lawyers.

"For me - Sabrina wrote in the letter - hearing this was a stab at the most important feeling I have in recent years, hope".

"The Scazzi family - explains the lawyer - for obvious reasons does not like a meeting in person, and alone, with Michele Misseri. They have never shied away from a discussion or a reply to his statements, but at a distance. None of the family Scazzi is still looking for 'a media trial'".

"But a word of truth (for which it is never too late) - he continues - can only come from Michele, Cosima and Sabrina. For this reason, not without difficulty, Concetta is available for a discussion with Michele, even in private, provided that in the presence of his son Claudio (and, possibly, also in the presence of Valentina next to his father)".

"In the face of a procedural truth, what we want to emerge from a possible meeting or confrontation with Michele Misseri is to understand why all this happened. This is the only reason why this possibility was thought of. We want to understand what that happened."

Luigi Palmieri, Concetta Serrano and Claudio Scazzi, mother and brother of Sarah Scazzi, reported this to ANSA through their lawyer.

"Since they were family members, the uncle, the aunt and the cousin - concludes the lawyer - Concetta has always reiterated that she wanted to know the reasons for what happened".

Sarah Scazzi was killed - according to what has been ascertained - by her aunt Cosima and her cousin Sabrina, sentenced to life imprisonment.

The uncle, Michele Misseri, was released from prison on 11 February at the end of his sentence, after an eight-year sentence for having suppressed Sarah's body.
